Lake Forest, California (September 2010) - Price Pfister®, a century-long leader in the residential kitchen and bath fixture industry, today introduced the Selia™ Bath Faucet, a harmonious combination of traditional and contemporary styling with just the right balance of classic charm and contemporary chic. The modern scalloped edging and pleated details gracefully integrate with traditional curves to create a versatile design that complements virtually any style of home décor.
“This new design is exactly what customers have been asking for in terms of style,” said Kevin Bean, group marketing manager, Price Pfister. “The Selia Faucet makes a real statement with its elegant and contemporary style, but is not so modern-looking that it won’t easily integrate into a more traditionally-styled home. And if you redecorate a few years down the road, it is more than likely going to fit beautifully with whatever new décor is chosen. We think it’s one of our most versatile faucets to date, and very simple to install.”
Breaking new ground, the Selia Faucet is the first in the Price Pfister family to feature the state-of-the-art Push & Seal drain assembly. Easy to use, install and clean, and customizable through an array of finish options, the Push & Seal provides an advanced, quality seal for any bathroom sink. Best of all, the Push & Seal does not require any tools for installation. It is simply inserted into the drain for a perfect fit every time. Many homeowners find installation of the standard drain assembly to be awkward and difficult. By replacing the traditional drain assembly with the Push & Seal, the overall Selia Faucet installation experience is enhanced.
Sealing and unsealing the Push & Seal drain is equally as simple. Push the stopper once to seal, and a second time to open. To clean, the assembly can easily be removed from the drain and the stopper threaded off, or detached, to reveal a hollow interior for efficient and effective rinsing. Offering a tight seal every time, it is the perfect solution for in-sink cleaning of delicate clothing, children’s toys, and other items.
“By talking directly with homeowners, we realized there was great demand for the Push & Seal drain assembly,” said Alice Lee, product manager, Price Pfister. “Believe it or not, despite technological advances, many people still hand wash and are frustrated when they can’t fully-utilize their sinks because of something as simple as a poor seal – which is difficult to fix with a traditional drain assembly. The Push & Seal also is a great solution for homeowners with pedestal sinks, because it eliminates all of the unattractive under-the-sink hardware that comes with a traditional drain.”
Selia also features the Quick Install™ tool on the 8” widespread configuration. Historically, homeowners tend to find installation of widespread faucets more difficult than centerset ones because there are three separate pieces to install rather than just one. The Quick Install™ tool eliminates the need for other tools during installation, making the overall process faster and easier.
The Selia Faucet is Eco-Pfriendly™ and EPA WaterSenseSM Certified, meeting the High Efficiency Lavatory Faucet Specification of 1.5 gallons per minute. It also is certified to meet the NSF International 61/9 and Annex G Low Lead requirements. While these lead-free standards have only been mandated in California and Vermont as of January 1, 2010, all of the new Price Pfister new faucet designs introduced after this date are meeting these requirements. Homeowners who want to go green, but love their older faucets, can install Price Pfister’s Eco-Pfriendly™ Aerators which convert those faucets into environmentally-friendly fixtures for immediate water and cost-savings.
