I Have a Leak (kitchen)

Hey there, we’re sorry to hear that you’re having issues with your Pfister faucet. We know it’s frustrating when something doesn’t work how it’s supposed to, but the good news is that there may be an easy fix to get you back up and running.

Leak at Spout

Problem: It is leaking/ dripping from the spout when I turn off the water

Solution: Clean Cartridges Gasket

Remove Cartridge

Let's start by going under your countertop and turning off the water to your faucet at the angle stops. Next, we'll remove the cartridge by taking off the faucet's handle(s). Using a 3/32 Allen wrench, you will undo the set screw(s) then remove the dome cap by unthreading it counter-clockwise. Finally, remove the retainer ring by unthreading it counterclockwise.

Clean Gaskets then Re-install the Cartridge

Using a soft damp cloth, wipe down the cartridge gaskets to remove any debris.

Reinstall the cartridge by reversing the first steps.

Test for Leak

Turn your water back on and check if the dripping has stopped. If it has not, it may be time for a new cartridge.

Leak at Sprayhead

Problem: It is leaking/ dripping from the sprayhead

Identify sprayhead

If you're seeing water coming out of your sprayhead where it shouldn't, then your sprayhead probably needs to be replaced. Determine what model you have, using our faucet finder.

Call Pfister for replacement

Leak at Hose

Problem: It is leaking/ dripping where the hose connects to the sprayhead

Tighten connection

Let's try to tighten thesprayhead to the spray hose. Hand tighten by twisting the sprayhead clockwise. Remove clip from ball rod

Look for leak

If you're still seeing some water at this connection, a part may be required to resolve it.

Leak Under the Counter

Problem: It is leaking/ dripping under the sink

Diagnose location

Let's see where your leak is coming from first.

Leaking at angle stops

Try to tighten the supply lines to the faucet to see if that helps. Using a crescent wrench, twist the quick connects clock-wise to ensure a secure fit.

Leaking from Hose

If the hose is leaking from it's lining, you may need a new hose.

Leaking at the underbody

Make sure the connections are tight and secure to the countertop

For pull outs and pull down faucets, pull down on the spray hose connection to the faucet (or tighten this connection if yours is threaded on) and make sure it will not disconnet and is secured/tight. For a two handle or single control faucets with a sidespray, pull down on the sidespray hose and make sure the diverter connection will not disconnect and is secured/tight.

Check Connectors

If the connections are tight and water is still leaking, you may need a new hose.

Leak At Handle

Problem: It is leaking/ dripping under the handle

Remove handle and dome cap

Let's start by going under your countertop and turning off the water to your faucet. Next, we'll remove the cartridge(s) by taking off the faucet's handle(s). Using a 3/32 allen wrench, you will undo the set screw then remove the dome cap by unthreading it counter clockwise. Finally, remove the retainer ring by unthreading it counter clockwise.

Tighten retainer ring

Tighten the retainer ring with a crescent wrench by turning clockwise.

Reinstall handle

Reinstall handle by reversing the first steps.

Test for leaking

Turn your water back on and check if the dripping has stopped. If it has not, it may be time for a new cartridge.
